Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4 May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30 Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)

... she now travels with loads of stuff in the back seat, cardboard boxes, bubbly wrapping material, two of my big beds (which she drags along from and to home every day) plus one portable bed plus my sheet to make me feel confident ...
... but the truth is I get in and out of the car with little effort ...

I've got the BEST BEST BEST news !
Cortisone and diuretics are doing wonders, the vets couldn't believe how "well" she is and she breaths much, much better than last time we were here on May 4th.
They were convinced she wouldn't make it through the week and that is as bad as she looked and felt.
I had to agree with them on that occasion and brace myself for loosing her soon.
But apparently we got there just in time.

I can't remember if I mentioned this before but the very moment I decided to do the X-rays with a view of trying to help her with medicine so she could still have some quality of life and as I was mentioning it to Dad, the BIGGEST, most well defined rainbow I have ever seen in my life came to the sky and it finished on top of her bed exactly where she was lying.
It brought tears to my eyes and at that very moment I knew I was right and there was still something left to be done to give her more bonus time

Sooooooo, we are now reducing the diuretics to half a pill a day as they are quite harmful to the kidneys.
Cortisone dosage stays the same.
OH my gosh ... I thought we were going to increase the dosage and now these wonderful news!
Vet says, based on how she is right now, she may have TWO whole weeks ahead of her 
LOTS of time to spoil her rotten and organise outings and have friends visiting and making new friends and PAWTY PAWTY PAWTY !
It might sound silly to "normal" people that one cheers this madly for such a short period of time but hey, two weeks means 336 hours of pure happiness for all of us !!!!

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.

Celebrating with you! Every single day is precious at this point and we'll take any we can get. Miracle pills for a miracle girl! Eurydice is not done with wrapping every single person she meets around that big paw of hers. ❤️❤️❤️ Much love and hugs plus a "high five" to Miss Cow and her Mom!
