It was such an honour to meet you and your wonderful, crazy, adorable Mum, your delightful Dad, your devoted Aunties...Thank you, sweet Eurydice for bringing us all together. It was such a short visit, and yet we packed in so much joy: the memories, the love, will last forever. You did that, Eurydice.
Back home, my girls were waiting to hear all about my meeting with the legendary Miss Cow.
A quick hop over the Alps
And home.
Did you really meet Eurydice, said Meg. Really, really? Yes, I said. Wow, she said, and for a second she was actually lost for words.
She sniffed my hand. I can smell her! she said. I can smell Eurydice!
And then she gave it a kiss.
Ruby, Staffy, born June 2022, became a Tripawd, November 2023, adopted January 2024.
Also Angel Tripawd Meg (aka The Megastar), who died in April 2023, aged 14, after seven glorious years on three, and Angel Staffies Elsie Pie and Bille. In the pawprints of giants...
It's always sad to have a new friend leave but Eurydice and everyone (too many to list) will have fond memories. I bet Meg and the Pie are happy to have Claire home with her smells and stories.
I'm so happy to hear the magic pills are working their magic and Miss Cow is doing well except for the heat. My sister Nancy told me heat and mugginess makes it harder to breathe so she was on oxygen. Sooooo, why not try it for Miss Cow? Okay, it may be a bit over the top but a few snorts of oxygen every now and then may help make the breathing a bit easier. Here's someones experience using an oxygen tank:
Hudson just got his own personal oxygen tank. I didn’t make this decision lightly; at $75-a-month rental, plus special dog oxygen masks at around $20, it’s a money crunch. But Hudson is 13 in January, too old (in my opinion) for potentially dangerous surgery.
The oxygen is helping. When Hudson’s breathing is labored or his tongue looks bluish, I put the mask on his grizzled muzzle (he doesn’t really mind it), turn it on, and hold it there for a few seconds. It’s very simple and, thus far, not needed often.
Keeping an oxygen tank for my dog may be hard to explain to non-dog friends, but if it makes life a bit easier for Hudson and a bit less worrisome for me, it’s worth it.
Here's a photo of another dog enjoying his oxygen:
I love all the critters that Eurydice gets to cuddle and sleep with as she dreams of Manni, Meg, Mona and her other tripawd friends and aunties.
Hugs and purrs,
Kerren, Eli and Mona
Awww Clare, you and Eurydice do selfies really well!! Cute photos of two cutie pies!! 🙂
I love that Meg and Elsie Pie gave you the once over to make sure you realy did meet the MAGNIFICENT EURYDICE:-) 🙂 🙂
And thanks for the pics of the Alps Clare...quite beautiful! The sights we have been able to see because of Miss Cow are absolutely spectacular!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Kerren, thanks so much for sharing that information about oxygen for dogs. Absolutely makes sense!
You tell your Sister Nancy hello for us and we continue to send her pawsitive energy.

... Meg, you are such a sugar pie, shame you won't meet miss cow in the flesh but I did show Eurydice your pictures and thoughts ...
... Kerren, thank you SO much for letting us know about oxygen, I am seeing Eurydice's vet soon and will ask her if it is available here and when to give to to her ...
... It is not quite the time yet (thankfully) but at some point it may make a huge difference ...
... Sally, do I need to say me and Eurydice keep you always very close to our hearts ? ...
... HUGE hugs going your way and thank you all so much for being there for us, always ...
