Thank you LindaÂ
Yes, she should be better tomorrow, especially with the increased dosage.
I am sure the fact he opened the area and was able to disinfect it throughly will help matters too.Â
I got the harness through a website here in the UK but would much have preferred to have bought it through Tripawds, anything to help this great community!
Big bear hug going your wayÂ
Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4Â May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30Â Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)Â
If you can get the Pawz Booties I mentioned earlier (kinda like little ballons), you can put it on and fill it with the warm salt water...just an idea. Yoy just go through Amazon here in the site.
I REALLY like your vet and the way he thinks! No one knows the amount of time any of us have. To deprive Eurydice of doing the things she loves isn't giving her the caliber of quality she would want.
Love!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Quite right Sally Â
We'll get the booties - hope they have cow size - and off we will go to the park as soon as my girl recovers !
I'd guess at least one week of pottering around the house will probably be required.Â
I feel so much better knowing the booties will protect her feet from infection too hurrahÂ
Woof woof to you Sally and big bear hug tooÂ

When Cassie had surgery on her foot in January we had to keep the dressing dry - not easy to do in the winter! lol On here I learned about using an IV bag for protection for her ... ask your vet for an empty IV bag, cut the end off, then poke a couple holes in the side about 1" from the open end & put a shoe lace through it. Then every time she goes outside, have her step into the bag & you tie it shut. It works great! It kept Cassie's foot dry all through the snow & mud.

Thank you Donna and Jerry that is another great suggestion !
I'll see how everything goes as for the moment we are only doing pee and poop mini walks and I disinfect her paw with salty water as soon as we come in.
Definitely will either get the booties or the IV bags, no more infections for my oversized baby girl !
Sending you a big hug and cuddlesÂ

Right, just a quick update on miss cow's paw.
Went to the local vet today, swelling has gone down and we did some sort of bacterial test to establish which type is infecting her.Â
He said this could have been done before treatment started but in any case it will currently give us a good indication as to whether antibiotics are doing their job, and that seems to be the case.
He has increased the treatment for a further week because he says he doesn't want to take chances as she is on chemo.
So, she will be on antibiotics for a total of 16 days but as she is going for chemo a little over a week from now I will ask the oncologist's opinion concerning the length of treatment.Â
Still mini walks only but she seems not to mind it at the moment.
As for her weight, she is 68,2 kilos now so I must be doing something wrong. I have decreased slightly the portions of food and she is absolutely not fat but still too heavy to be on 3.Â
I gotta start her on salad dishes ...
Sending you all a big hug and cuddles to your doggies and kittiesÂ

This infection is so unfortunate but it looks like you have it under control with your vet. Fingers crossed.
I always giggle when you call her miss cow. She does have the markings and is large enough. I was initially concerned about Mona's weight and it did come down in time. Eli helped with that because he finished up what food she didn't eat. Unfortunately he found the weight that she lost. Maybe you need another dog to help out Eurydice?Â
I think, like with people, the snacks or treats add to the weight. I know some people give carrots or other fruit and vegetables but I'm sure you know all about that.Â
Good luck with the weight control and getting Eurydice out for walks in her rubberized feet.Â
Hugs to both of you
Kerren and Tripawd Kitty Mona
Hi Kerren,
Hey, that would be a great idea, getting another dog or cat 🙂 I would love that Â
I bet Eli was very happy to be able to scoop any of Mona's leftoversÂ
I virtually don't give my girl any snacks apart from a pig's ear maybe each couple of weeks.Â
Thing is she eeeeeeeats a lot and she really enjoys her food. Her bowl with dry food is no longer always available but I probably will have to keep an eye on the portions.
She is seeing a physiotherapist just after her 4th chemo and I will ask her opinion on which booties I should get (and onco too) and then will post a photo. Never thought I would have a 3 legged cow wearing bootiesÂ
Sending you a big hug and ear scratches to your gorgeous kitty kidsÂ
