Oh, no.
I'm brand new here, and sorry I haven't had the chance to know you, but I know your pup has surely been lucky to have you.
Your love and care have and continue to give him the best life possible, and for that you are one of my heroes.
God bless you and Chewy. My heart cries for the time you won't have, but rejoices for what you have given each other, unselfish love.
All my best,
Jo
Mikey, 2/14/16, came to us as a foster the end of June, 2wks after rear left amp. Now, at 6mo, he's doing awesome! Perfect, except for wanting to play with 9yo kitty Pumpkin, who isn't interested. At all.
Love to all! Jo, Mikey and, reluctantly, Pumpkin.
Just read your post about chewie and am so sad for him and for you his family! I hate this disease and it seems it knows no boundaries!
Love your sweet baby every minute and know that he has the best family ever and wants for nothing.
Wishing you comfort in the coming days - Much love Summer and Patchy
Oh wow ... this is a really tough one to read. I am so sorry .... My heart breaks for you. Just know that you are in our hearts and thoughts.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
As I read through your post, every comment struck a chord in my heart.
We lost our Harmony very similar to your situation and I totally know what you're going through. The anger, frustration, helpless and "lost" feelings are so ridiculously heart-breaking. You look down to your sweet, sweet fur-baby and feel like you've failed at being the most important person in that innocent life. And yet, there they are, loving eyes that greet your despair.
My number one advice is to forgive yourself for not being a miracle worker. Forgive yourself for not being able to do the suffering for Chewie, all the while knowing you couldn't anyway. Forgive yourself for sending him on to be with others, running and playing at the Bridge. Harmony is there and always has time for a new play-mate.
Lastly; always remember that time doesn't exist at the Bridge. By the time he makes his appearance, you'll already be there with him.
Peace be with you and the rest of your pack.
Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.
