Hi everyone! I wanted to know how long does the bruising/redness last for? Novak was doing great, redness almost all gone on day 5 and then it came back, now its red again, still looking ok, but I think he may have bump his limb on the stairs once, will it be an issue long term if he bump it once in a while? Its just the interior of the limb, never the exterior, why is that?? The skin is thinner, ok, but I find it strange.
It will eventually go away. Gravity has something to do with the way it bruises - with Murphy being a front leg, his bruising was underneath, but not above. Murphy doesn't bruise now if he falls or bumps it.

Murphy had his right front leg amputated due to histiocytic sarcoma at 7 years old. He survived 4 years, 2 months & 1 week, only to be taken by hemangiosarcoma at 11 1/2 years 6/12/17

Pretty sure that's a normal post-op bruising and probably related to his spill. I've never heard of it being an issue long-term. If you're concerned, let your vet know OK?
