Hello, hoping for any help or advice, I haven't come across anything that looks like Hank's wound. Leg amputation was on Tuesday, he's developed bruising which I understand us expected, but he developed what I can only describe as blood blisters in the tissue around the bottommost part of his incision. He fell over this afternoon when going potty, so I don't know if that burst some but it's been seeping what looks like blood for most of the day and it worsened after he fell. Hank has been mostly inactive since surgery aside from getting up to go potty, and it doesn't smell or seem hot or show other signs of infection. Just wondering if anyone has seen something like this? Is it a seroma ? I appreciate any words of wisdom, thank you!

Hi Nicolie and Hank. Your future posts won't need approval so post away.

If you can post a photo that would be good. Here's how adding images works, let me know if you have questions.

A seroma is when the fluid is more watery than bloody, and is not usually blistery, it looks more like a larger pocket of fluid just under the skin. It's possible he has some teeny tiny blood vessels that are leaking (don't panic) so I would let your vet know asap. While it's normal for a dog to mostly lay around after surgery, it's good to check in with your vet to let them know.

Tell us more about Hank. What kind of dog and how old? Why did he need amputation?
