i haven't posted in some time but want to give an update on my golden Blaze.
Recap - he is 11.5 years old, lameness front right leg January 2014 intermittent, dxd with presumed OSA by X-ray march 2014, negative OSA bone biopsy April 2014, monthly pamidronate infusions for six months for presumed osa. Significant lameness developed, amputation 12-23-14, January to April 2015 four rounds of carboplatin chemo, maintenance oral chemo chlorambucil and deramax to date.
Today he returned for chest X-rays to look for lung mets and to aspirates to good size masses that have developed on his left side behind the shoulder blade and left rear flank. Lungs are clear, no mets! But there is strong concern he may have a fairly rare cutaneous lymphoma. abdominal ultrasound was clear so if it is lymphoma it does not involve other organs. We must decide on the next actions that would include surgery to debulk the masses and allow for an exact dx, then possible oral chemo again, six rounds.
so that's it.

Mary and Blaze,
I always love seeing Blaze's pic as your avatar, he is so handsome!
Thank you for giving an update on Blaze, I wish I had some knowledge in this area, but I know there are others here that will have some experience and or knowledge to share with you. I just want to give my support; I do know this journey has many ups and downs, and right now, most of your news sounds pretty good overall. I also have read that treatments for canine Lymphoma are very promising.
Let us know what is going on with your sweet boy, and sending all my best wishes to you and him. 🙂
Bonnie, Angel Polly, Pearl, and Zuzu
Thanks for the update! Please keep everypawdy posted on what you find out.
