Update on Calvert! !!
Today is 17 days post amputation for Calvert. I knew he would be able to jump and play again, but I doubted he would be able to run as fast as before the amputation.
I let him out the front door tonight to use the restroom. .. usually he'll go, and come right back in. Well, my lil guy saw something across the yard and just took off, running faster than id ever seen him run! !! And he didnt come back. He went over to the neighbors yard to play with their German shepherd. I went and got him, hes the happiest ive seen him since before his accident. 
he also jumped up onto my bed for the first time since his accident today. He still has some drainage, but hes definitely made a better recovery than i even could imagine. Im so overjoyed. Cried happy tears.

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

YAY!!! That's great news! I remember when I was so amazed by how FAST Shelby was post-amp! she was a jack russell terrier mix and boy was she was fast back in the day. She could get some serious speed on those three legs!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Hooray for Calvert! Sometimes instinct kicks in and they don't even realize what they are doing. Calvert keep up the good work, just don't get TOO CRAZY!

Great news, handsome Calvert !! So happy to read he is doing so well, and each day will get even better. None of our Tripawds even know they are 3-legged, they just GO !!

Calvert is short for Lord Calvert. Lord Calvert is a brand of Canadian whiskey. My roommate prefers Canadian whiskey over American whiskey and the night we brought Calvert home we couldn't decide what to name him. My roommate happened to be drinking Lord Calvert, and it hit me... we named Calvert after the whiskey.

Way to go Calvert!!!!
I'm so glad his recovery is going so well. What a cute story behind how he got his name. We came up with Leland's name from a TV show...Dog the Bounty Hunter. Leland was Dog's son and he always sent him after the bail jumper first. He'd say "go get 'em Leland!!" and my husband and I agreed that would be a cool name for a dog and would fit a Dobie perfectly.
Keep up the good work Calvert and showing everybody there's no stopping you!
