Oh my gosh Carol you are not a bad mom, you're a pawesome Mom who wants to help make your pup healthy! There's nothing wrong with not wanting to switch to home cooked or raw, we all have to do what works for our pack. I really like Heather's idea of adding a bit of Metamucil to your dog's diet instead of just switching it around completely. We recommend it for constipation after surgery, so I agree that it would be a great place to start. Of course, yes, ask your vet first but this could be your answer.
