Such a great thread!! So funny! The only thing I have to add, is that Louie's surgeon said he would probably never lift his leg to pee..He's a right front ampy. But low and behold one day about 3 months post -op ...he managed to lift his back leg to pee...while doing a very good yoga balance on just 2 legs!! So much for what the surgeon predicted!! clapclap

Thanks again everyone, I'm so glad to have found this site clap y'all have made it easier in helping us how to cope & understand our very stubborn Akiko.....I'm happy to say that he's doing pretty good, but we took the patches of fentanyl off yesterday so I'm not sure how today will be. He has tramadol and seems to throw up a bit after taking it, so I'll probably have to call the vet about it. So as we start day six, we are tired, but relieved that he's found a way to adapt....I'm waiting and hoping his days continue to improve, but from the reading I've done here , I'm somewhat prepared or the down days that are sure to follow with the patches coming off and the meds leaving his system.

Hang in there Tera, you are making progress even though it's hard to see right now.

You definitely want to call the vet about the vomiting. It's probably nothing serious but just to put your mind at ease.

We're here to help however we can, keep us posted.
