Thanks for the pointer to this thread Jerry! Bray is taking Rimadyl, Gabapentin and Amantadine. The oncologist added Amantadine to the cocktail at our consult about a month ago and it was a game changer for him pre-op. The tail was wagging. He was barking at the UPS guy and was engaged in games of tug. This mix seems to be keeping him comfortable post-op too. He gets up and wanders around the house, looks out the windows, switches beds and is excited to go out. He seems to be most comfortable going at a faster pace outside - I'm guessing it helps with balance similar to riding a bicycle. I'm trying not to hinder him nor to be a helicopter dog mom. The only thing I insist on his helping on the steps in and out of the house.

For anyone looking for an inexpensive solution for traction , I found no-skid carpet runners in Costco. I had yoga mats but the addition of the runners gives him more opportunity to get around in the house. They're washable and were on sale for $10. I don't see them on the web site but they were at the front of the store.

Delighted to hear how well Bray is doing....especially this early on.

Good job.  Both of you👏

Sounds like he's already figuring out his gait and the pace needed for balance.  Smart boy!

Hugs
