Hooray for Quincy! It feels so good when a chemo is finished and you are home. Our last one is the 26th. It will be nice to be through chemo - Otis hasn't been really sick, but he hasn't been feeling 100%, and I want him to be able to get back to his 100% for as long as he can. Otis yelped for no reason for the first time last night. It seemed to really surprise him. I have noticed him licking his bed or the sofa where the tumor would have been if he still had the leg. I am wondering if this is phantom pain - it is not something he did before. He seems to like long strokes along his side when this happens. I also ordered one of the Farabloc blankets just for fun to see if that helps - I saw a post where someone just laid it on the floor to see if the dog liked it, and the dog basically took ownership! With two dogs and three cats in my house, someone will use the blanket.
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.
