Today marks 11 months since Chico's amputation.
Tomorrow we visit the oncologist. He's been on chemo since a week after amputation for histiocytic cell sarcoma.
But in the past three weeks or so, I've noticed he's "different." Different in a GOOD way! He seems brighter, happier, and he plays a lot more than he has been. He picks fights with Misty and growls at her more when she tries to steal his toys.
Keep your fingers crossed for a good report at the oncologist's tomorrow!!
Hoppy Ampuversary. What a great milestone. Fingers & paws crossed here for you as well.

Very inspiring. I love reading these updates. Way to go Chico!
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
Congratulations on 11 months So happy to hear the Chico is doing so well.
Joan and Lily
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
Yay Chico - Congrads! Sending happy thoughts your way for a pawsitive outcome!
Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.
Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.
Chico was on vincristine IV for 5 months along with lumostine. Now he is just on lumostine, although the oncologist thinks that at some time soon he'll change that because lumostine is rather hard on the system (especially his liver). I give Chico Sam-E , alfalfa and milk thistle to help support his liver.
We're back from the oncologist and now he doesn't have to go back for two months!
All blood work was pretty much where it has been for the past few months. We'll give one more dose of lumostine and then probably be done with it.
No chest xray done, but nothing warranted it. Chico isn't coughing so probably no lung mets. He has no lumps or bumps anywhere and his lymph nodes are not swollen.
While we can't say he's cured, he has proved that he has beat this nasty cancer!
A W E S O M E !!!!!
Chico you did it! You beat hystiocytic cancer! Wooohooo!!!!
Congratulations, what a great visit.
By the way, did you know we have quite a few members in SoCal? I think you guys need to get together and pawwwwwty!
