Here is a new video from the Canine Cancer Alliance interviewing Prof Natalia Shulzhenko, MD PhD from the Oregon State veterinary school. She is the foremost expert on the influence of the human microbiome and its influence on human cancer outcomes, especially in conjunction with immunotherapies.

She is now collaborating with Dr. Mark Mamula (lead researcher on the Yale Vaccine study) on how a dog’s microbiome may determine whether and how much it may respond to immunotherapies like the Yale Vaccine (or ELIAS, Torigen, etc.) This is a hopeful new research area that may help make immunotherapies more effective for more dogs.

Nice! Thank you for sharing.

It totally makes sense that focusing on improving the microbiome is one way to beat cancer. Love this progress for people and pets with cancer!
