Can anyone share an online pharmacy where they may have found the cytoxan and/or piroxicam? I'm sure my vet will give me a prescription, he has heard me talk about all the costs thus far. I've done some research just through google, but I know there are very experienced pawrents on this site! Also, what about palladia? My vet has recommended this as well.
On the recommendation of another member, I get Libby's cyclophosphamide from Diamondback Drugs. I have been happy with their cost and service. I think I pay about $37 including shipping, for a 30 day supply. I get her Rimadyl from PetMeds. Both are so much cheaper than my vet can offer them. Hope this helps.
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
I had to have Scout's cyclophosphamide compounded because of the dose she needed. I think it was about $50 for one month's supply. She also did Palladia. I work for a vet, so I got mine at cost. A three month supply for Scout was $325. She did cyclophosphamide on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays; and Palladia on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
She was a ~42 lb. sheltie mix and the above numbers reflect costs for her particular dosages. Obviously, with large or giant breeds the cost will be higher.
Good luck! I'm rooting for you guys!!
We use Diamond back drugs for our Metronomics. I know when we asked about Padailla for a dog Sassy's size which is 125 pounds it was $1100 plus then there is also monitoring that needs to be done with that. So that added another $ 300.00 into the cost. We just couldnt afford that. So we are using the metronomics total for her to drugs including shipping is $ 97.62 a month.
