This article popped up on my facebook feed today, just wanted to share:

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. You always share the best info, thanks!

The owners of 70 dogs enrolled their pets in this study. Half the dogs received an injection of a neurotoxin, called substance P-saporin (SP-sap), as well as standard care. . . .

The positive pain relieving effect that SP-sap had was significant, according to the study. It both provides promising data for canine patients suffering from cancer and encourages further research into the use of SP-sap for chronic pain control in humans.
