I always wondered what went on when they brought Jill "back there" to give her her chemotherapy treatments. Dr. Greg, for those of you who don't know, posts awesome videos for those of you who like to watch some gorry surgeries. Unfortunately, Dr Greg's own pup Tucker was just diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma and he posted this youtube video of Tucker getting his first chemo.
I wanted to share the video, because I know many of you would be interested to see the process. WARNING: start the video at minute 3, they show the removal of Tucker's spleen first and it's pretty graphic.
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. "Like" Jill's facebook page: https://www.fac.....tty?ref=hl Proud member of the WINTER WARRIORS!!!! Her blog can be read at http://jillsjou.....ipawds.com. xoxo
Thanks Erica, we sure appreciate your taking the time to share information like this!
When we watched Daisee Dog's Chemotherapy Session we were surprised to see how relatively quick and uneventful a chemo session can be. It really opened our eyes to the fact that chemo doesn't have to be so scary.
