This morning I discovered this new early detection blood test called OncoK9 to pre-screen dogs for cancer of many types - it appears that it can be administered by any vet if they are willing to order it. The hope is that with regular screening cancer can be detected early so that there is more time and more options to consider for treatment - and hopefully a better outcome as a result.
I discovered this test in a talk by the Morris Animal Foundation and I'll include the 15min clip below. FYI - during the Q&A they did say that depending on the individual vet's mark-up the test runs about $4-500.
