Our Mollydog (Golden Retriever) is 10 days post-op front leg amputation. She is still pretty quiet and spends most of her time lounging and sleeping...which actually is great as we are -20 degrees in Nebraska right now and so there is no time spent outside other than a quick potty break!
Can someone offer any sites or know where I can order apparel (shirts/sweatshirts, etc) for Molly that takes into account her tripawd status now? We will get stitches removed the end of this week however; to keep the site covered to minimize licking access I need options....

Stephanie, the lady who owns the company, makes pajamas and does custom orders for tripawds. You can email her at pajamas4pitbulls@gmail.com. I ordered a pair for Tanner and unfortunately when they arrived there were 4 legs (Stephanie was in a hurry to get a rush of orders filled for Christmas and forgot they were for a tripawd). I contacted her, she was super nice is sending us another pair. I can tell you they are very well made and definitely warm. They are kinda pricey, and it took about 3 weeks for them to arrive (I think due to the rush she had) but they are pretty awesome. As far as custom ordering for tripawds, its the only place I know of. I hope someone else chimes in b/c I'd like to know if anywhere else does it as well.
Also, my dry cleaner here does sewing. You can check to see if yours does as well, and just get regular dog clothes from Petsmart etc, and have them cut the leg and sew it closed. I know I can get a hem etc done here for about $5 and they have it ready within a day or two.
Oh, and I just have to say HOLY COLD on the -20 degrees!!! We're at about 43 right now and I'm freezing

I adapted old t-shirts for my Golden, front-amp, to prevent him from having access to the stitches.

Our awesome Golden Boy was diagnosed for OSA in April 2014 in the proximal humerus, front-leg amp on 05/20/2014. Finished chemo (Carbo6) on 07/10/2014. Ongoing treatment: acupuncture + K-9 Immunity Plus ( 3chews) and home-cooked no-grain diet. Stopped Apocaps because of liver issues. Liver issues: controlling altered enzymes with SAM-e and Milk Thistle. October 17: started having seizures. Taking fenobarbital for seizures. April 18: started prednisone.
Tshirts shifted around too much on Jack, but that might have been because she's so much smaller than me. I loved the Cloud Chaser jacket from Ruffwear - the fabric was breathable, but sturdy enough to (mostly) keep her away from her stitches. It's pricey, but cheaper than a vet visit! Oh, and someone else had a brilliant solution using a pair of tights - if I were going through this again, I'd give that a try.
Be sure to check our Tripawds Gear blog which offers the best products, clothing and gear that we've found for Tripawds, like this Ruffwear dog jacket we love for Wyatt Ray . We've never been able to find a manufacturer willing to make a product specifically for a dog missing a leg (which would be tricky to do, since there's so many different combinations, body types, etc.), but the ones we've located work well with either a front leg or a rear leg Tripawd. For front leggers, all it takes is some quick stitchery to sew up an arm hole.

Apparently I overlooked the clothing on this site....thanks Jerry! We are using t-shirts for now but the neck holes seem to stretch out in a short amount of time, which causes shifting, you get the picture.
I had never heard of using tights...may check that out further! Thanks dcjack!
And HOLY COLD is right Elizabeth...supposed to get down to -30 tonight....I live in Nebraska and can usually roll with the punches, but this mother nature punch is FRIGID!!!
I will continue my research and will share the info!
Oh brrr! You might want to try posting in "Hopping Around" to get more feedback on this very important topic. Thanks for joining!

I will post a topic in that category...thanks Jerry!
Roscoe1...Molly actually doesn't seem to be affected too much...she goes out, does her business and hops back inside. She has always loved the colder weather, making her own dog angels and such, so honestly we haven't had to make too many accommodations...thankfully!
