Hi, my name is JudeAnn, and my toy poodle is MyNewt. Newt will be 4 in November. She had her leg amputated when she was about a year old, after months of being in a cast and then getting an infection. I promised her a forever home, but due to health problems (mine) I am forced to find a home for her. She is a lovely girl, very tiny (4.2lbs) gets around great, but because of her size, she is fragile.
The perfect home for MyNewt would be an older couple that has lots of time for her. I don't work, so she is used to being on my lap all the time. Also, someone who will give her lots of good food and maybe a bit of their dinner, since she so loves people food! Her favorite is spaghetti. She doesn't mind children (I have two young grandchildren that she loves and they love her), but I watch them constantly so they don't do anything that may hurt her. So I would prefer a home without children. She doesn't like older children for some reason, haven't figure out why, so they are out of the question too.
She does great being groomed (I do her myself), but she has to be done on her back, on my lap and very gently.
I'm really looking for that perfect home for her, if you or anyone you know fits what she is looking for, please contact me. I want someone in MI, preferably within close driving distance so I can continue to grooming her.
I also require a contract to be signed and will do a home and vet reference check.
I am near Port Huron if that is of any help for the area.

bless your heart for being brave enough to try to find a home for your little girl!!! she is a doll, and we have 'paws crossed' that someone out there realizes the chance they have. hugs to you both!! sending out best 'et juju' to both newt and to you!!!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Oh, how irrestible! She is a doll! I just "got it" on her name! Cute!
I'm so sorry about having to give her up. I know it must be heart-wrenching. I'm so sorry you are sick.
When admin comes around, they can post it on their FB page. I know you want to keep her in your area but would you consider someone not living close by? We are a group of special dog lovers here and would travel miles to get a special one. We devote so much love to them. We all feed them the best foods and do regular vet checks...even more than we do for ourselves!
It's something to think about.
Sending lot of good thoughts for a happy home.

Thanks for finding us JudeAnn, this is a good place to start looking. We'll be sure to post her profile on our Facebook page like Comet said. Meanwhile have you considered working with a rescue group too? I'm sure they would be hoppy to help you while she was still in your care.
This has got to be a hard thing to do, I'm so sorry. Please let us know how we can help make sure this doll finds a furever home.

Yes, I am working with two rescues. They are so packed here in Michigan, will all the people losing their homes, they have more dogs than they can handle. I've had one call, but it wasn't a good match for her. I'm afraid the person who'll take her won't love her as much and as well as I have. I want someone who will give her the furever home that I can't provide now. I was told about your website and thought this would be a perfect place to find a home for her!
She is a special girl, she is laying right next to me (where she will spend the majority of her day) until it is time to eat. If I go anywhere and she goes with me, she gets carried. She is very spoiled, and I would like her new skin parents to spoil her too....

Not yet. We had a weekend visit for a potential, but that didn't work out. They have never had a puppy, and she acted like one!
She needs someone with very tiny dog experience and someone with compassion, she doesn't want to be separated from me.
