Just got word about this sweet gal in Southern CA, currently being cared for by Border Collies in Need. Please help spread the word so she can find the loving home she deserves.
If you were to look up the words, brave, spirit, and sweetness in a dictionary you would find a picture of Annie. Annie is a 3 year old Border Collie that came from the Santa Maria area with special medical needs. You can read more about her medical journey below.
As her foster Mom and Dad we are here to tell you a little about Annie's dog personality. First of all, because of her surgery, she is expected to live a full, long healthy life. She was a model patient and has made a full recovery. She has a "who needs 4 legs attitude".
Annie has the true Border Collie work ethic and spirit when it comes to play but does have an off button. She can play ball for hours, and loves long walks but is just as happy laying next to her person. She should go to a home as a only dog since she does not like to share her people and can get a little snarky with other dogs.
She also has a very strong small prey drive, so please no cats. It would be wonderful if someone in her new family was home during the day or could be close enough to check in on her as she craves human contact. She is good with children 5 and over, especially if they will play ball with her.
Annie has lovely house manners, is fully house broken, crate trained, knows "sit", "stay", "no" and walks well on a lead. She seems to learn very easily. It has been a privlage and honor to foster Annie. She is indeed a very special young lady and she deserves and needs a very special family.
