I maintain the National Borzoi Rescue Foundation website and today we listed a sweet borzoi tripawd girl looking for a home.
Name: Lucy
Age: 3 years
Breed: Borzoi
Amputation: front leg due to accident.
special needs: does not do stairs
Lucy is a 3 year old, spayed female. She is listed as "Special Needs" because she only has three legs. Due to an injury before we got her, her fore leg was amputated. Her only restriction is stairs so we are looking for a home which is all on one level. Lucy does manage a few stairs, two or three but several are not manageable for her. Lucy gets along with other dogs both large and small and is good with older children, ten years and up. She is shy but warms up and is very sweet. She likes to play and run. Lucy is currently living in the Jacksonville area of FL. We are looking for that special home who can look past her disability and see the wonderful, beautiful Borzoi she is. Other than missing a leg, Lucy is All Borzoi and does not consider herself handicapped.
I have to say that my own borzoi has done very well as a tripawd. This is an amazing breed.

I hope she finds a forever home quickly. I know nothing about the breed, but she is so delicate and graceful looking.
