Hi, my name is Avian Sullivan, I live in the DFW area, and unfortunately, a dog my husband and I have rescued 1 1/2 years ago is in need a new home. She is wonderful, very sweet to dogs, cats, and children. Her reason for needing rehoming is that my husband, although his intentions were sweet, is highly allergic and has asthma. We hoped that with grooming regularly, intense cleaning, and medications for him would make it work, but this did and she now has to live outdoors primarily. She is approximately 7 years old, and had her right rear leg amputated about 4 years ago. She requires very little medical attention at this time, as long as she can live indoors primarily, with plenty of carpet or rugs, as hard slick surfaces are difficult for her to maneuver. She is housetrained, only really needs medications such as NSAID's in the winter time for her arthritis, and the monthly heartworm/flea medications of course. She is spayed, up to date on Rv, lepto, dhpp, and bord. Heartworm negative and kept on prevention monthly. Recent labwork showed no concerns except a slightly elevated ALT, which my vet said it not necessarily uncommon for her age. She requires very little, and lives a very sedentary lifestyle due to her disability. Again, she just needs to have the opportunity to live indoors primarily, as the elements are hard on her.
She is about 60lbs, chocolate labrador; I can't quite figure out how to post a picture and the instruction page on how to do so did not come up - so if anyone is interested, or knows how I can post a picture, please feel free to email me at southie5487@gmail.com! I would love to introduce you to Sophie and see if she is a good fit for you!
Thank you for your time! She's such a sweet girl, I'd like to give her a better life, as back to a kennel is not an option for me! She deserves better! - Avian Sullivan
Hi Avian and family. I'm so sorry that Sophie didn't work out. These things are so sad for everyone but they happen and we understand. We will be happy to help you spread the word. If you can follow these instructions for uploading photos that would be great, or you can email one or two to me and I'll be happy to share them.
