I'm new to Tripawds and recently started a blog here on my 16 year old kitty Sweet Pea who had amputation surgery last week.  I also have a small foster-home-based 501c3 rescue (Paws4Life, Inc.) and we have a young tripawd kitty who has been waiting to find her forever home.  We are in the Charlotte, NC area and would like to find a local (or within a couple of hours) adopter.

Sally is a young (under 3 years?), healthy, & beautiful tuxedo girl.  She was found in the fall of 2016 injured at a feral colony.  The caregiver was finally able to trap Sally (after a week or two?) and she was taken to a vet where it was determined that she had a broken leg on one side and a dislocated hip on the other.  Sally went to a foster home until a plan could be put into place to help her and that's when my rescue was contacted.  We got a fundraiser started and contacted a few other vets for more opinions on what should be done.  An amputation was recommended on the broken leg and a "possible" FHO on the dislocated hip (but the FHO could be put off until it was needed, IF it is needed).

Understandably, Sally was very skittish at the foster home after having been out on her own and then sustaining and living with a painful injury.  She needed some time to settle in after all she had been through and the foster mom has done great with socializing her.  At the end of December Sally had her back right leg amputated from her injury and has healed wonderfully.  She has not shown to be painful in her hip, in fact she climbs to the top of the cat tower in her room.  She would do well in a more quiet laid-back home where she will get lots of attention, which she will love after she has had time to warm up to her new person and environment.  She has become friends with the foster kitties in her room so she should also warm up to a calm laid-back feline friend with proper introductions and time.  Sally may never be a lap cat and might remain an independent girl for quite some time, but that doesn't make her any less deserving of a loving, safe, indoor forever home. ~ For further information or an application please email. ~
