if I could make one suggestion: would it be possible to show not just the two names of the time zones (footer, tripawds timezone, your timezone) but rather the actual time that the site is on?? It would make things a lot easier, especially with the chat, to know when somebody actually posted something. I have a general idea of how late it is in Denver right now but then comes daylight saving time, me having to do math,... 😳😊Â
no seriously: if it's easy to do it would make life simpler for us people from overseas.Â

That is perfectly understandable. We can certainly look into this, but it is by no means an easy hack and will require further investigation and the involvement of the plugin developers.

PS: In the meantime, make sure you have the correct timezone settings in Your Forums Profile -> Options -> Edit Display Options
We'll see what we can come up with...

Ok, we've added a current time stamp (current server time) to the Live Chat.
If this is what you had in mind, we may* be able to add it here in the forums.
Showing the current user's time zone time may prove a bit trickier...
*Just need to thoroughly think through this considering the numerous queries per page load we already have with these forum pages.
Do any other members see the benefit in this?

Now I'm confused (not hard...). Once you log in it shows all the posts in the timezone you're in, doesn't it? And if you're not logged in it shows them the site timezone. Do you mean you'd like it to show the time the post was made in the local timezone of the person posting (I'm sorry if I'm being slow)? I do quite often google 'Time in Wherever Now', as I know where a lot of the people who post regularly are based. I do like it when people include location info under their avatar pic for this reason, but also just because I find it interesting. Anyway, soooooooon there'll be a whole load of us all squeezed into one timezone, aka Richmond, VA... Currently five hours behind London, I think, since the clocks changed last Sunday... yes, Tina I do know what you mean

I tend to confuse myself so it's not surprising if I do it to other people.
I think the way it is now is fine. With the tripawds-time showing on top. I just wrote something in the chat and it shows to be written at 2.32 am. Now my settings are on Berlin-time (or what am I doing wrong??) . The tripawds-time is fine, if it is put into perspective by being shown above the chat (in my little head anyway). But Clare, why is that different for you?? But anyway. It's not a big deal, really. I just thought that some newbies here tried to get in contact via the chat and I thought it might be easier for them to understand, too. (but then maybe they're not as daft as I am... 🙂 )

Yeah,I just posted in chat to test, and it's the same for me (2.58 am). But in the forums, for me, it is different.

oh you're right, I never noticed that. So other people's comments in the forums are shown as their or my time?? No, hang on. My time. Duh. sorry.
so I guess with my little idea we now have the tripawds time shown twice, once on top the chat and then in the chat. but maybe it still makes sense if new people see the time first? sorry if I am really annoying here, admin!! just ignore me if it gets on your nerves.

Ok now I am also confused Tina is the time on your above post your current time? 5:17 am there? I google your time and its says its 11:26 there. Thats what I usually do. As for the chat I never used that so I really dont know what your talking about . If you would not mind could you clarify So what time zone shows up on the forum posts?  Its 5:31 am here will see what the time stamp shows with my post.

apparently the forums show the timezone that each of us is in, the chat shows the tripawds-server timezone if I figured this correctly.
Honestly, just ignore this thread. I thought I had a practical idea and this is what comes out of that. blame it on my hair color...

I thought I had if figured out and duh I still dont 😉 I think I will go back to what I used to do and just google the time zones that seems to work the best. I think LOL
