Is it possible to post video files that are from my phone or do I have to create a link using youtube or other on line viewers?

The easiest and best way to share videos is to post them to Youtube, Vimeo or another online service first. Then you can just paste the view page URL on a line by itself and the movie will auto-embed in the post.
But no, you don't have to do it that way. You can upload video files smaller than 15MB to Dixie's blog. Doing so can quickly consume your free upload space quota and users may be required to download the video to view it depending on their web browser.
