can I change my display name? is it as easy as typing in a new name under profile?

Yes. You should just be able to type a new Display Name in your Forums profile. This will not change your username, which you use to log in. That cannot be changed.
If for some reason this does not work, you should also be able to access your tripawds.com website user profile and change it there by typing a new Nickname and selecting it as your Display Name.
In either case, you will need to be logged in to make these changes. If you have any trouble during or after the name change, just let us know here.
PS: When you're logged in, posts do not require our moderation and will display immediately.
