NOTE: If you have a hotmail.com email address associated with your Tripawds user account, you may not be receiving email notifications from this site. Today we started receiving numerous bounce-back messages from hotmail accounts with the following error:
SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM:<nobody@aspen.morsemedia.net> SIZE=3152:
host mx4.hotmail.com [65.55.92.168]: 550 SC-001 (SNT0-MC3-F31) Unfortunately, messages from 69.174.245.203 weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list.
What does this mean?
550 SC-001: Mail rejected by Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation.
Ouch. Basically, the Hotmail mx servers are falsely identifying messages sent from our server as spam. That means email notifications for subscribed forum topics, blog comments and private messages will not be delivered to hotmail.com addresses.
We have already contacted our server manager but it is unlikely we will get anywhere with Hotmail. Should you wish to contact Hotmail and let them know that your legitimate messages are getting blocked, please advise them that 69.174.245.203 has been falsely blacklisted.
For the record, our data center also hosts a fair chunk of all wordpress.com sites, so we may not alone in this.
For now, the immediate solution if you wish to continue receiving email notifications from Tripawds is to update your email address in your user account with one other than hotmail if possible. Otherwise, please check the Subscribed button at top for any new unread replies.

UPDATE: MSN email users may also be affected. Our IP address is apprently on MSN/Hotmail's blacklist. Various other watch lists (SORBS, DNSBL, etc.) are showing the IP is clean which is good for delivery to domains other than hotmail.com. We have submitted a request for removal & additional information to MSN Support and are waiting to hear back. We shall see...
