You know, that's a really good observation. We have a big hyper lab and Sebastian definitely took issue with him after his surgery. It makes sense - they are more vulnerable, it's harder for them to get away from scary situations, etc. Anyway, I'm glad to hear Sasha is doing so great now!

Thank you all so much for your help!
I just wanted to post the stairs we got for Sasha. They've worked really well for her. They're large platform, well made and sturdy. Carpet comes off a bit but that's the only thing that's a bit bothersome. We went with the 4 step since we have a bed that's 36" in height.
We found them at an arts & crafts fair.

Also, I wanted to mention that sasha seems to have no problem using the tall litter boxes we have either. We used to have a lower box out but we've noticed (via web cam) her jumping into, using, then out of the box without hassle. Granted, the cat "candy" (as we call it for the dog) does not get buried but eh, who knows, maybe at some point, she'll learn to use a different leg to make that happen. Either way, no issue with tall litter boxes.
So, I'd say it's been about a 3-4 month recovery period and all seems well.
Thanks again for the words of encouragement, support and help. I'll be sticking around since I need to create Sasha's blog still and will be happy to offer the same to the new generation.
Kristie this is a fantastic scoop, that tower is so neat and we really appreciate your letting us know about the litter boxes. Yes, oh my gosh please start a blog for Sasha, any more bit of information we can share about life on 3 legs for kitties is so helpful for the community. As you may have noticed Tripawd kitties are relatively new here in the community so the more information we can refer people to, the better, so thank you!

Hi Kristie, I seem to have missed your posts. My cat Mona is also a front leg amputee (June 2014). These stairs look great and I assume they would also work well for a small dog. I also have a high bed and set up a chair and boxes for Mona to go up and down. She rarely uses them. I wish she used them at least for going down but she's developed her own way to dismount by sliding her front leg down the side of the bed and pushing off and landing on her hind legs.
Mona calls the cat candy "Almond Roca".
Looking forward to Sasha's blog.
