I'm pretty sure that last week, after Molly J returned home from her surgery, I heard her chant, "Drugs are great! Drugs are neat! Now I only have three feet! " Today, she hinted that she'd like to meet Nancy Reagan. She'd been taking all her meds so nicely, wrapped up in various soft treats. But today, she started spitting out the pill and just saying, "No." I've started placing them in the back of her mouth and rubbing her neck til she swallows. But I'm looking for other tricks you may have used.

That is FUNNY! Next up, the Betty Ford Center! ;)

Ok, pilling is a big topic here. we've done a lot of posts here and there, here's two recent posts with some ideas that may help get those pills down:

We have been using E-Z Med Holes that we get at the vet's office. They are very pliable and smash around the pill with no problem. Gus has to take two pills every other day for his skin condition. One of them is Huge! I give him that one first and immediately give him the second, smaller one. He gulps them down without even trying to chew. Of course, it probably helps that Murphy is standing there offering to take them for him. We tried the Pill Pockets, but these work way better. And the Pill Pockets that used to come in Duck and Pea have been discontinued, so their on,y varieties now have chicken in them and Gus doesn't get chicken.

Kathi and Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

That's a new one, never heard of 'em before and apparently neither has Amazon, I couldn't find them on there which is surprising. Are they by prescription only?

We just get them over the counter at the vet.
