Shout out to my Oscar who has finally made it up and down the stairs in the house by himself. He's been going down for about 2 weeks and these past few days has been going up. So we cross another hurdle and have one more thing I'm wondering about. Early snow here in Massachusetts, so are there any special precautions I should take in the snow. We only had a few inches and I can see it's harder for him to get around. He's not bothered by it but it breaks my heart a little to watch him. I will snow blow a path in the back yard but any other winter tips.

I'm on part of the west coast where we don't get snow (or rain these days 
) so I don't have direct experience. There has been a couple discussions here on winter and Tripawds- especially about ice.

As far as hoping in snow... it's maybe like sand? Just makes getting around that much harder. I took my little rear amp Elly to the beach for the first time last month. She has been on three for three years (car accident) and is very fit and strong. It only took a short time of hoping on loose sand and she was pooped!

YAY GOOD JOB ON THE STAIRS OSCAR!!!! My Happy Hannah, a rear legged, never could master gping up stairs.
Yeah, like Karen said, walking in the snow is a lot of work and dogs do tire easier. But it's not mich difference for humans either when walking in deep snow. So no reason to feel badly. Oscar will still frolic and roll in the snow and catch snowballs!!
I know that lots of people do use the snow blower to ,make lots of paths for the their dogs. Wish I could remember who,ppst3d a video of their Tripawd running happily on all the snow blown paths tjey had made I their uard. May have been for sweet Lab Polly. Can't remember .
Now as far as icy covered stairs or ramp, some swear by chicken scratch that you get at a feed store .

When you say he is having a hard time, what do you mean? Is he slipping?
I have to admit I'm not experience with living in the snow, but many people here are. Has Oscar worn boots ever? They can be so helpful in tough conditions. Also, if you don't have one already I recommend a Ruffwear Webmaster Plus harness so you can help him when needed (it has a handle on the top of the harness).
