Of course, today is Thanksgiving and we are thankful for our friends and family, but beyond that....

We are thankful Trouble has made that 1 year milestone since her amputation.  Today, a year ago she was in surgery, and I was paniced not knowing at that point if we had made the right decision.

We are thankful that even though she only had a 10% chance of making it til today, she has.  And we are thankful for the most part, the journey has not been too bumpy.

We are thankful for the many new friends at Tripawds.com who are there through thick and thin, who make me cry happy tears, and sad tears, and sometimes both at the same time.

Trouble had a day at the spa yesterday.  Bath, nail trim, and a quick going over by our beloved vet. She seems to be slowing down a bit, but Dr F says she is still well.  We are giving her a round of prednisone for the allergy symptoms we just haven't been able to kick any other way, and I have some natural glucosamine ordered (without shellfish) to see if that will help her begin to feel a little better.

In true Trouble fashion, she laid in front of the oven as the turkey cooked the last few minutes this morning.  Have I told you how much she LOVES turkey?  When she was a pup, Bob baked a turkey while I was at work.  I got a phone call from him and he says "there is something wrong with this dog".  What do you mean? I asked.  She won't move from in front of the oven, he says.  And every turkey baked since has had that little face laying in wait for the bird to come out.

Happy Ampuversary, my sweetheart.  You are the light in my life.

Have been waiting all day to read this post and wish you a Very Hoppy Ampuversary!!!  The one year milestone is so very wonderful and we are soooo very happy that your Trouble is here to celebrate.  Cherry has been celebrating vicariously with special treats, extra soy milk, and her favorite – a morning ride through the valley.  (I have to make sure Cherry is not watching over my shoulder, but there will be ice cream tonight as well.) So, the cheering you are hearing from east of the San Francisco Bay is the celebration, which will be going on for all the rest of the day.  Emily and I will have a very special toast for this very special day.  A wonderful day of Thanksgiving for this and so many more blessing.

Congratulations and wishing you many more such great celebrations.

Awwww, that put a smile on our faces here Shanna. Trouble is one spunky Pittie girl, and we admire how far she has come. Thank you for being such a great pawrent to her and giving her a chance to keep on livin' life in such style.

Many, many hoppy wishes to you and Trouble!!! Another turkey down, and may there be many more!

P.S. Can you share the name of the shellfish-free glucosamine? We'd love to know for future reference. Thanks!

Here is a link to the glucosamine.  It was recommended to me by a couple of different folks on Pit Bull Talk who also have the honor of having allergy dogs.  It is Glucosamine & HA by Liquid Health.  You can get it from other sources, this one had a discount so I chose it.

Congrats to Trouble on making it 1 year!  I know how rare and special that is.  I can just picture her sitting in front of the oven waiting for her turkey.  Have a great day!
