Two years ago today I was struggling to keep my sanity....we'd recently discovered Nitro had bone cancer, and were facing probable amputation. I couldn't even breathe, the pain was so great! Two years ago today, I joined the Tripawd family, searching for answers, information, hope. Two years ago today, I made friends for life, even though I'd never met them.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making me whole again....we love you Tripawd Nation!
Paula and Nitro
Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms. Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"

Has it really been 2 years?!? WOW!!! Well amazing ... just amazing is how I feel about Nitro's amazing recovery and journey. We are SO happy you found us and so happy that you help and give back in so many ways. I feel the same ... I have made lifelong friends here and even though our earthly journey ended, Shelby's legacy is alive and well here.
I love our family - I love our community ... it soothes me when I am down and most of the time, no one ever knows. I just need to come here to smile, laugh and cry.

October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Yes Sally, ice cream will definitely be in order when his ampuversary rolls around! (In June). Today is MY anniversary of finding my second family. I still remember my first chat - with Jim - and not really buying what he was selling......that Nitro could survive and even thrive on 3 legs! Boy was I wrong!

That's great news. TWO YEARS. It's not an easy road to go down but it's well worth it. Congrats Paula and Nitro.

Murphy had his right front leg amputated due to histiocytic sarcoma at 7 years old. He survived 4 years, 2 months & 1 week, only to be taken by hemangiosarcoma at 11 1/2 years 6/12/17

Paula I wasn't here yet when you joined but thank you for sharing the love you received. You and the rest of the Tripawd nation got me through some really tough times. Happy anniversary Paula and I'm so happy it turned out so well for your handsome Nitro. He's such a beacon of hope and inspiration here!
