Some humor

The last few weeks have been a bit trying- but not totally without humor...

I learned how to do sub-Q fluids so I could do it at home and not traumatize Mag with 3 extra vet visits a week.  I am putting 250 ml of fluid in each time, so there is quite a 'bubble' of fluid when we get done.   When I learned how to do it at the vet I told the tech- just what a three legged dog needs for her self esteem- a hump back Big Grin

In the midst of the sudden onset of incontinence, and while we were trying to hold off adding a drug to Mag until we got the kidney thing  stabilized we had a really bad night when Mag, and all the pug blankets got pretty wet.  I got the bright idea to try doggie diapers to maybe keep her and the bedding a little dryer.  I thought that I would have to tape up the extra leg hole to prevent leaks (Mag is a rear amp) but it did not occur to me that the diaper really needs both legs to stay on.  I put the diaper on her- she laid down, scooted a bit to get comfortable, and the diaper was around her foot.  I tried tightening the tabs- but got the same result.  I thought about putting her harness on her and attaching the diaper to it somehow, or maybe tape or Velcro or a bungee cord ...I was getting desperate, and tired of laundry. Big Grin

And finally on the laundry- between all of the incontinence bedding, then the nausea clean up I killed my dryer!!  The washer still worked OK, but I had to invest in a new set this week...  the power of the tri-pug indeed Laughing

I would have loved to see the attempt at the doggie diaper! I can hear Opie now... "people are crazy"! I'm sure Maggie was quoting him that day! 🙂
Thanks for sharing! We're keeping Maggie in our hearts and prayers...

lol!  Thanks for the smile this morning 🙂  Its hard to look at the positive sometimes, so kudos to you!  When we took Jack into the oncologist for the first time, they used a rainbow colored lead on him.  I was so excited because I think he is gay and I was going around telling people, "look how happy he is for acceptance!!!".  Opie is right.  People are crazy Little Devil

Humpback Maggie! Laughing

Jerry says there is no shame in wearing diapers, and that maybe you just need to use more duct tape. He is also a firm believer that laughter is the best therapy! Keep smilin' ...

Jerry,

That doesn't look like a diaper.  That looks like a thong.

Hey why not? I think there are lots of products out there that Tripawds could use but haven't been developed. One-armed sweaters for one, and now one-legged diapers! Sure, why not?!

Karen,

I'm sorry to hear about all of Maggie's new problems.  I admire your personality, you can see the humor in things, even in not so great situations.  Thanks,  I need all the humor I can get right now.
