Dante and Mina turned 3 on Christmas eve...and their "Gotcha day" (when we adopted them) is approaching within the next 3 weeks. That means that Dante has just passed his 3rd ampuversary as he was just over 3 weeks past amputation when we adopted him!!
He's still hyper and crazy as ever..but I think (don't quote me on this!) that we may be over the hump of "puppyhood" with these guys, and he's slowly starting to settle down and become a more refined, mature pup. Of course, when using those words to define Dante, they have a whole different meaning than when used to define most other dogs! He will always be his big, goofy self.
He's doing well, so far we have had no complications arise from his being a tripawd, or any sort of health concerns, so we're still hopeful he's got many years to go, as long as his bright ideas don't get him into some sort of serious trouble, first! My girls say it's because he's a boy and boys do silly things! I think, considering the two boys I live with...I'm inclined to agree!!

Oh happy gotcha to Dante and Mina! I just love Dante and his goofiness! I am so happy you added him to your family, and I know he's thrilled. Here's to wishing both Dante and Mina many years of happiness being in charge of your pack!

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

Wahoo! Keep on rockin' it!!!
ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
