Hi – We celebrated Zack's 14th birthday today with a real red party hat, some extra spoiling, and the cake seen in the pic below (although his sisters Izzy and Pia (seen in the picture) enjoyed the cake much more than he did!) Â

A few short months ago, I really wasn't sure we'd make it to this birthday. Â As all of you know, you get so busy taking it day-by-day, that future events, even just a few months out, take a backseat.

Thanks to all of you for your support.  And, I know it's late for most, so tomorrow – ice cream and cheese for all the tripawds in Zack's honor!!!

Zack, King of Dogs, 1996 to 2010
Zack lived a full 14 years, even to the end.
The joy and memories he provided us will last a lifetime.
Surviving him is his sister, Izzy, a 12-year-old boxer mix quadpawd.
And the latest addition, Zula, an 11-month-old pit bull mix tripawd.
14!?
You go Zack! Who says ya can't teach a senior dog new three legged tricks? Here's to many more... keep on keepin' on!

Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Tracy – Zack is a ix of lab and beagle for sure (the shelter had his litter there, and about a third of them looked just like beagles), but we figure there is some pit mixed in too.  The shape of his face/ears when he was just a wee pup look exactly like pit bull puppies.  And, from what we've read about pit personalities (love sponges), he fits the bill, too.
