I know there is the famous November 5 gang here that has such a special place in our hearts. Dakota belongs to a very small little gang, too: the February Furballs! Miss Rio the Woo just celebrated 9 months, Dakota celebrates 9 months today and Wyoming Cowboy Bud is in a couple of days.

So here's to the February Furballs! Dakota, I salute you on your 9-month ampuversary! You are a weenie who has impressed me with your fortitude. We can call you a hero all we want (and you may be in your own way), but those who live with you know you would go 5 miles out of your way to avoid discomfort. And it would never occur to you that the extra 5 miles could be very dis-comfortable!

Cheese, ice cream, burgers, anything you want tonight, folks. We have a big 9-month pawty to get going. Please, though--no green beans.

Shari

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

Dakota's thoughtful and erudite blog is at http://shari.tr.....pawds.com/

Hooray for 9 months!

I'm with Dakota - I'd walk 5 miles to avoid discomfort too!

I'm having some ice cream even as I type. And I'm going to go get Abby an extra treat in honor of the February Furballs!

We LOVE Dakota and are pulling for that sweet boy.

Jackie & Abby

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Yay for the February Furballs, from one member to another!!! Hoppy ampuversary, Dakota. Your momma sez you're a weenie, but I think it might be because she made you wear pink after your surgery. You got your leg stolen from you, and then you were forced to wear a pink sweatshirt. And you have to live with that MonkeyMoosebutt Evelyn every day. That sort of emotional trauma can definitely take it's toll on a guy. We don't think you're a weenie, we think you ROCK!!!

Love Rio

Abby, I had no idea you got the view from the front. I thought you only had the rearview mirror in place. I still think your mom should photograph the guy and put the picture on Facebook and tag him. That seems fair to me.

When I went outside and yelled "Hello?!" - he turned around!!!!!!! (I should have thought of that possibility before yelling.... Luckily I averted my eyes VERY quickly.) I don't think Abby averted her eyes in time. Poor traumatized baby!

[If anyone is just tuning in, you can read all about why I came THIS CLOSE to stabbing my eyes out today here.]

Happy nine months Dakota Dawg!!!

As much as I despise the green things, the pugs LOVE them!!! I wear gloves when I dispense them so not to get contaminated.  But in your honor DD, member of the FF, I will hand out 'normal' treats tomorrow (they are already in snore mode tonight).

Furballs and Weenies! Fun stuff!

At least it wasn't "muscle knots"!  (don't make the mistake of googling it and clicking the images like I did! Who knew it didn't pertain to a muscle spasm!  I, too wanted to stab out my eyes afterwards and for a moment I forgot about the knot in my neck muscle........oops! I meant spasm.)

I digress........Way to go Dakota!  We'll be celebrating with fine fare....cheese.
