Well, today is Captain Jack's 5 month ampuversary. Considering I didn't think we'd probably make it much past 4 months given what I'd read on the internet, I went a little overboard for this momentous occasion and took a ton of video. Now, in Jack's honor, I will subject you all to his cuteness. Enjoy!!
This is Jack playing "mommy steals my ball and makes me run after it". It's fun.
He likes to hop down the dock and act like he's going to jump in. NOT fun for mom.
This is the furthest he's EVER gone in the water!
And last but not least, here he is trying frantically to do something so he can get his favorite treat...freeze-dried chicken with carob and yogurt.
Never in a million years did I think that not only would we make it to 5 months, but that he would be so happy. Thanks everyone for all your support!!!

Jack, you look GREAT!!! Hoppy ampuversary!!!! Thanks for the videos, we posted them to our YouTube playlists so you can give others the inspawration they need to know they can make it past diagnosis and amputation.
Hey, we think we've been to that waterfront park. Is that the one in Kirkland?

Jackers,
Do not think that it can be said any better than how Jerry put it. This is truely inspawrational to all who are starting or for that manner anywhere along the way of this journey. This is what it is all about – Quality, Quality, Quality.
The sound you hear from the south 35 miles inland from the San Francisco Bay is the chears, poping corks, and general celebration for reaching such a major milestone and in such wonderful condition. We will celebrate vicariously with you and want to wish you may more such wonderful ampuversaries.

Happy Ampuversary, Jack. Those videos are great - so encouraging to those who will come after you. I love the inspirational stories.

Happy Ampuversary Jackers! We love your videos---you are so cute!!! And we're so impressed you've recently taken up swimming. What a brave boy! (But don't jump over any more cement walls or jump off the dock!). We love to hear about all your adventures.
You must have posted this before we joined the group, but what kind of mix are you? You look a little like a pitbull but you're so slim!
(Even though we know you love butter---and were you the one that ate a sausage biscuit at McDonalds?)
Yippeee!!! Celebrate!!! Eve and Romeo
Thanks for all the replies!
Jim and Rene: Yes, that is the park in Kirkland - Marina Park. It's like, 3 blocks from our condo and it's Jack's favorite 🙂
Bob: I did hear a faint cheering that day! Now I know where it was coming from. ty!
Eve: When we went to adopt Jack, they said he was a chihuahua mix and should stay small. LIES!!! So now we have no idea what he is. I think he looks a little pit bull-ish, but I recently pet a couple pitties, and they felt nothing like Jack (they were SOLID and he's squishy). I'd like to do the DNA test thing so I know what kind of mix to get next time! He's the greatest 🙂 And here's a factoid for ya: His original name was Marco!
Hey Hey Hay Capn' Jack!
Happy Hippy Hoppy Ampuversary! You ROCK buddy! AND you are too cuuuute! You aint got nothin' to do with any Chahuahua, oh no! Way too cute you are for that! What were they thinking? Mom did the DNA test for my brotherdawg Smokey. Wow, what a mixed up mess he is! But everything they said made sense, in one way or another. He was supposed to be a 'shepherd/hound' mix and supposedly he has none of that in him! We still think he has some kinda hound, no matter what the DNA said.
We loved your videos Jack, keep on rockin' and having fun up there! Wish Caira Sue and I could come visit--we would have you swimming after our hot tails in no time !

Good Morning!!! Well, my camera finally ran out of batteries, so I don't have any video to share, but I managed to snap this one with my phone about 30 seconds after Jack woke up (ie: I turned the light on...hence the look of hate he has on his face).
I also have to work today, so we went for our celebration outing on Monday. I got him a carob "brownie" and we went to the park where he got rowdy with a Shih Tzu and chased after rocks I was tossing into the water. When we were walking there, I heard this little boy ask his mom, "Mommy, why is that puppy hopping?". This made me smile because, A) He thought Jack was a puppy, and 2) He didn't notice he only had 3 legs!!! Tomorrow happens to be my 28th birthday, and I couldn't ask for a better early gift than getting to spend the last 6 months with my darling little snuggle wuggley woogle bear (he's rolling his eyes at me for saying that). Thanks for all your "PAWESOME" support!!!!!
