29 Months and STILL HOPPIN'!
Just wanted to stop in and let you all know that the Queen is hoppy and healthy as ever, and still kicking cancer's butt!
I haven't logged on lately because I've been embroiled in crisis after crisis with my Mom (who has late-stage Alzheimer's). After 2 years of trying to convince my Dad to put her in the hands of professionals at a memory care facility, he has finally taken the step. We will be moving her in this Thursday. I know this is not Tripawds related, but in a way it is. Since I have posted an update on my Facebook I have received several messages and words of encouragement from TRIPAWDS friends. Not my school friends, work friends, social friends, no. These messages are from loving, thoughtful TRIPAWDS friends, people whom I have never met in person, yet they are the first to be there with positive, encouraging words for me at a difficult time in my life, even though it has nothing to do with my dog.
Aren't "dog people" just the best?
Long Live the Queen!
Sue and Queen Nova
Dane Mom Sue at nova.tripawds.com and Mom to Beautiful Great Dane Queen Nova, a Blind Tripawd, who kicked cancer's butt from 11/08-03/13. The Queen is Spirit Nova now, but her legacy lives on here at Tripawds!

All Hail our Glorious Queen!!!
Sorry to hear about your Parent's situation. And anything that goes on in our Tripawd family is Tripawd related as far as I am concerned. So I will be thinking of you and your family on Thursday- it is a difficult part of life.
Karen and the pugapalooza
p.s. I think the pugs could take shelter from the rain under those ears... either set .
Hail to the Queen, 29 months is absolutely amazing! Queen Nova you are such an inspiration to sooo many of us as we continue this journey.
Sorry to hear of the situation you are dealing with your mom. May she do good at the new facility and you and your family find peace and strength as deal with this very difficult situation.
Queen Nova love those ears, your one beautiful girl.
Jo Ann & Tasha
Tasha 8 years old, First cancer diagnosis 6/26/09, Last cancer diagnosis 9/26/09, Amputation 10/01/09, Loving our girl moment by moment.
Tasha lost her battle and became my Angel on May 4 2011. Forever in my heart….
I don't think I'll ever see the Queen's ampuversary without tears. It is so bittersweet for me, but OMD, I'm so proud of her! I couldn't love her more if she were mine. It warms my heart that she is doing well, and no longer fighting the glaucoma demon. I love happy BIG dogs!
And you are right, dog people ARE the best people ever. My 'virtual' family is awesome, supportive, loving, and kind. We are blessed to have them in our lives.
So sorry about your mom, but once the move is made, you will feel better. It may not be the same day, or even the first week, but with the disease, there comes a point where it is just not practical for the family to continue to be the sole caregivers, and you will be at peace with the choice to have the professionals do it. My heart is with you, I know this is very difficult. ((Hugs))
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

You bet that the issues that your mom has had with her mom is tripawd related! If it affects you it affects us! And you can be assured that we are praying for a smooth transition and many good things to come as she moves into the care of professionals! Pawsitive thoughts are immediately forthcoming to all of you there in your pack! I am SO happy to hear about your 29 month ampuversary!! P.S - I cant help but notice the bunny ears.... you are not taking any allegiance to the monkey butt pack are you?

So amazing Nova! You are really something special!
RUH ROH! I hope the ears are Easter related and the monkeydogs haven't gotten to you!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.

Hoppy 29 months! That is so pawsome, hail the Queen Nova indeed.
Sending you lots of pawsitive thoughts & prayers for your mom. It is a difficult decision, but do remember you ARE doing it out of love.
And, as others have said, if something involves anyone in the Tripawd family, it matters to all the rest of us! Dog lovers rock!!!
Sending you lots & lots of golden hugs!
Cathy
Nova, you are one amazing royal lady! Congratulations! 29 months!!! Truly, truly inspiring. Beef trachea for everyone!!!!!!!
Sue, sorry to hear about your Mom. We had the same situation with my Dad four years ago. It is a very difficult decision to make, but at the end of the day, it's the right decision for all involved.
Queen Nova,
You look swell in Monkeygarb! Happy happy 29 months!! You are an inspiration!
Sue,
Wishing you well with your mom and dad.
Spirit Samson was Spirit Tripawd Daisys four legged "brother" and ruled as the self proclaimed head of the Monkeybutt Federations East Coast Division. Lady Chunky Monkey stayed from Oct 2011 and left for the bridge in Apr 2012. Miss Perdy is left and has some big pawprints to fill.
