A year and a half ago today marks the day Meeko was officially diagnosed with cancer. I struggle with saying he's been cancer free for a year and a half because the cancer wasn't actually removed until his amputation was performed. We'll celebrate his year and a half ampuversary on April 1st. So today our boy is celebrating a year and a half of kicking cancer's butt. He has fought hard and continue's to do so each day. He's defeated odds and speculation. I'm most proud of how he has taught people to never give up. He has a true warrior spirit and we love him so much.

Our tripawd is Meeko. Four and a half year old male Leonberger. Certified therapy dog with his CGC. Diagnosed with grade 1 chondrosarcoma 9-16-12. Right rear leg amputated 10-1-12. We also had Casper who was an 8 year old Great Pyrenees diagnosed with osteosarcoma. We sent him to the Rainbow Bridge 10-29-11.

Happy year and a half diagnosis day!!!! I have the same problem with Jill because she didnt actually have her amputation until 6 months after amputation!  So I celebrate both :D

What a great milestone, way to go!!!

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. It sure sounds like a great reason to celebrate now AND later, I'm all for it!

As a big boy, Meeko definitely defies those silly odds and is showing the world what is possible. Thank you for sharing that journey with us, it's an honor to be along on the ride.

Keep kickn' butt Meeko!
