Today we celebrate Smokey's 8 month ampuversary!   Although I'm beyond excited and happy that I have him with me, I also wanted to share that both he and I are thinking about everyone on this site and in these forums.   Especially those that are needing to face the decision to amputate or have lost their loves ones... I just don't want to minimize the hard decisions that others have had to face in the midst of our celebrating...

Smokey continues to amaze me... we've had a few rough patches with some of his other legs not wanting to work, but he gets through each obstacle and hops right on over them :).  He's starting to favor his left side, but we'll be going in this week for a quick check up and grooming session as he is getting his pictures taken by a pet photographer this weekend :).

He continues to be on a diet and losing weight has been helping... with summer around the corner I'm most concerned about the heat because he hasn't done well in hot, hot weather but I'm just excited that he is here with me for the start of this summer.  8 months ago I had no idea I'd still have him with me... and I cherish every day with him...
