I feel you, yesterday was my girls amputation day. I just brought her home in fact and she is resting comfortably. I also experienced mixed emotions yesterday and found a little bit of relief after hearing from the vet that the surgery went well. I felt even better when I got to pick her up and she was hoping along waging her tail and obviously happy to see me. I know recovery will be hard but all we can do is take it one day at a time. Wishing you the best and a quick recovery.
We just brought our girl home yesterday too and she is also resting comfortably here at home now. You are absolutely right, the best thing to do is take one day at a time, I have learned that from just watching her and realizing that she lives in the present and even though she has lost a leg, she still enjoys the moment of being here and now and through her I have gotten so much strength. It was so hard to see our dog without a leg and with such a huge scar but all we can do is continue to move forward in faith, your girl will be in my prayers, all the best.

Thank you very much, to have found this site has been a great blessing. Our girl is at home now and yes, it is hard specially to see her without a leg.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!! And to be surrounded by your love just makes kt all the more blissful!!
Remember, we are right here with you as the first few days or so can be hard......harder on ou than her!!
Isn't it a miracle how quickly they adapt to three legs? She'll still be adjustng and fivurin out different muscle useage, but all in all, they walk as though they never had a fourth leg!
Now let us know when she has the first pee and first poop, okay? Yeah, we celebrate anything around here!!
She may not be hungry at first, that's okay too. Try boiling her some chicken
