Day 3--Small steps, but i have several small steps to share this morning.  We finally poopedclap.  Beamer took me a little farther in the yard this morning (i was nervous--i was thinking you know we got to get back) and when we came in for breakfast he busted past me to eat at his normal spot (on a slick floor next to his wild brother).  I was so proud.  And lastly he pick up his favorite bone and began to chew on it.  I was so worried he would not be able to hold it with only one paw but he didbig-grin.

And again i wanted to thank all of you for all your comments.  It is like all of you have a window to my soul. I feel as if i have just gained an extended family. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

It is those early small steps we are all most proud of.

Way to go Beamer!  Mom is beaming this morning. big-grin

It is like all of you have a window to my soul.

This is so very true.  Some of my fondest new friendships are folks I met here.

Well done Beamer!  We are so pleased that you are able to return to your usual activities so quickly.  Pooping, making mom nervous, shoving brother out of the way to scarf your food (golden boys love their food!), and chewing on a bone.  Sounds like you had a great day!  Keep it up Beamer!  You'll see up and down wobbles over the next few weeks, but don't worry, the overall trend will be UP.

Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011

Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011.  Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs.  If love alone could have saved you…

Fantastic news!! Time for the Happy Hoppy First Post-op Poop Dance! Treats all around to celebrate!

Jackie, angel Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Woot! Woot! Everypawdy, do the POTTY DANCE!

Yay for this milestone, we are so hoppy to hear Beamer is getting back into the routine. Dogs are so much more resilient than their humans can ever imagine, aren't they?

Hoppy days are definitely ahead for you and the pack. Yay!

Hoping you can relax a little more now.

Here's to many more days of positive strides, in your new journey as a tripawd.

Golden kisses and hugs to you and your golden crew.

Woo-hoo for poo! And for breakfast and wild brothers and favorite bones and golden retrievers who keep their mommas smiling.
Keep it up, Beamster!!!

Hugs from Samdog and his mom.

Samdog was a 10 yr old Golden and retired SAR dog. We found a bone mass on 8/17/12, needle biopsy showed sarcoma 8/22/12, amputation on 8/23/12, post-amp biopsy confirmed osteosarcoma on 8/28/12. Sadly, we found lung mets on 11/27/12 and my Spirit Sam earned his wings on 12/2/12.

We didn't know where we were headed and we don't regret a single step along our path. It all happened too fast, but he left a legacy of love that we will always cherish. Good bye my heart.

Happy first poop day!!  We are the only group I know besides the parents of toddlers that get so excited by a poop report.

Way to make your mom smile Beamer, and way to Be More Dog , mom!  We sure learn to treasure and take joy in what used to be just the everyday stuff.

Good for Beamer! The next few weeks are challenging ones, but it sounds like he is doing great!

Smilin' Sammy, March 16, 2004 – Dec. 5, 2011
Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.

We loved him even more.
Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.

I cannot tell you all how wonderful it is to have so many people on our side. It is such a mental boost when we are down to read all the post from our "cheer squad"!  It has been a rainy lazy day our way and Beamer had a bit of a stressful night.  We had thunderstorms last night and he's not a fan. So i think so much panting and pacing last night made him a little more lazy today.  But otherwise appetite is good and still pooping!

Many hugs and thanks to all of you,

Gina and Beamer
