It has been 6 months since Tazzie's amputation so today she went to the clinic for chest rads, bloodwork, and a urine test. I was shocked to see that she has gained 15#!! You can still see her ribs but the weight has redistributed around her neck, shoulders , and groin. She is 195# and her new diet starts today. I will have to reduce her food and the amount of cheese that she takes with her artemisinin in the evening.
The good news is that her chest rads are still clear. I also took an xray of her right rear leg because her knee has been bugging her but luckily no cancer there either. I think she irritated her prior ACL repair by rough-housing with her "brother" Loki. She has really been feeling good on her Metacam and has been overdoing it when the weather is warm.
It appears that she has another UTI but no blood in the urine so I am going to continue her Cytoxan as part of her metronomic protocol.
I was very anxious about her xrays today and prepared for the worst. Even if she would have had lung mets today I would not have regretted our decision for amputation. She has done so well and if we hadn't taken her leg when we did I think she would no longer be with us.
Tripawds rule!!!
