We recently agreed to rescue a newborn Golden Retriever puppy that had to have his left rear leg amputated at six days of age. Â We've owned a couple of rescue dogs in the past, but this will be our first amputee. Â We are really excited to give this guy a loving home. Â I'm wondering if it's a good idea to give him a companion sibling from the same litter. Â The veterinarian that performed the amputation said he's strong and healthy other than being a tripawd now.
Hello and welcome!
Have you decided on a name for your new boy? I don't think I've heard of a surgery so young.
I've almost always had two dogs at one time- but for the last several years they have all been small. I like the fact that they have a companion when I'm not home.Â
More pictures please!
