Hello and welcome to Tripawds. I hope you don't mind- I moved your post to its own topic so more members will see it and can respond.
I see you started a blog for Stella as well...
I'm sorry to hear about Stella's accident- but you are wonderful for taking in an abandoned and injured dog.
A good place to start here at Tripawds is Jerry's Required Reading List- lots of good information on amputation and recovery in one place.
Please give us some more details on Stella, how old is she, how, big,
what kind of pup. When did the limping start? Did she fall after her
amp? Could it be that she is adjusting to her new gait after two surgeries?
Karen
I'd be interested to know the answers to the questions Karen asked, too!
We adopted Dante 2 weeks post op, and he had a lot of trouble getting around. He fell a lot, stumbled, and just walked funny all together compared to other tripawds I'd seen in videos and out and about (as rare as it is!). He eventually got much better and now he's a little looney tune. For him I chalked it up to being a puppy and having an injured leg for a while. Not sure how old Stella is, so I'm not sure if she's young enough to still be a clumsy pup as well!
Can you describe her limping and what it looks like?
I'm also sorry about Stella's accident, but bless you for picking her up when she'd been dumped on the side of the road! Welcome to Tripawds!
Yes, please do tell us more. We wish the best for Stella and look forward to learning more about her.
Karen: Thanks for the reading list link and moving this to a new topic!
