I rescued my German Shepherd/ Beagle mix on July 20, 2010. He was rescued from a kill shelter in Kentucky who didnt have room for him anymore. He was definitely going to be put to sleep if not rescued immediately. When he was brought to the shelter his back leg was barely hanging on. My assumption is his current owners did not want to pay the vet bills after he was hit by a car. When I heard about his story, I knew I had to meet him. He was the sweetest dog and the most beautiful one as well. I couldn't believe he was so young. They guessed under a year. He was so kind and gentle. I fell in love instantly. He had his leg amputated two days before his adventure to NJ. I couldnt believe how well he had adapted to life with out his leg in just two days. Amazing! I had to have him. I am a sucker for rescue dogs. I also have a Boston Terrier who was abandoned as well.
Kilo has adjusted nicely to his new home with my fiancé and I. Kilo and his sister Obie (Boston) are the best of friends. He loves going for long walks and playing around the house. He is extremely energetic!! On October 9th, Kilo and I are doing the Hounds and Harriers 5k in Morristown to raise money for St. Huberts Animal Welfare Center. I have been raising money and other donations at my work. I can not wait to wear our tripawds bandana and represent all of the other tripawds out there!!

Kate and Kilo, welcome! He is just so adorable, I'm melting looking at his eyes. He's about the age I was when my pawrents found me!
I know you will be very hoppy as a pack. As you've already observed, these amazing pups have so much to teach us. The fun is just beginning!
We sent your bandanna off today, thank you again for ordering. Oh by the way, please consider joining Tripawds as a member so that your posts appear automatically and don't require moderation. We want to hear all about his adventures!

Bless you for rescuing him!

She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Awwww I can see why you just had to keep him! Just look at that sweet face!! Chloe had her left rear leg amputated 7 weeks ago and she is doing great!!! Kilo won't really know any different since he is starting out as one, so he's got a leg up! (pun intended). Keep us updated on Kilo!!!

Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
That is one lucky little guy to have been found by you! Thank you so much for giving him a chance. You won't regret it. Tripawds find a place in your heart and you are theirs forever.
