We have loved (and cried) watching this wonderful video. Wish we could have been part of this unbelievable community before beautiful souls like Comet left us.
Occasionally I wonder if I will be able to continue on afterwards...the way YOU and Gayle's and Abby's and Rio's moms are doing. I think after reading through this memory log...I MUST! The loves of our lives require it! 😉
Oh, Ge'Lena, I am smiling too because I know Comet would want it that way. I love the video, just like I love every video you have made (especially Sadie's.) I still watch it often because it really captures who she was. I remember the first time we met in person, and I was so sad and you were so patient listening to me go on and on. I felt so blessed to suddenly have someone to talk to that understood how I felt, because as we all know, not everyone "gets it." Although I never got to meet Comet in person, and you never got to meet Sadie (although we came pretty close), I'm glad Ranger and Rocket got to meet (maybe once they'll like each other on the same day)
Anyway, thanks for all that you do and I think I'll watch that video again (and smile)
Lisa
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Ge'Lena,
Others have alerady said it waaaaay better than I could but I just wanted to add my thanks. You mean so much to this community, you have helped soooo many people, I don't know what we would do without you. Thank you for giving of yourself, thank you for making us laugh. Thank you for the CometDog Productions videos that mean so much to folks. Thank you for sharing your love for Comet and her love for you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love, support and oh so wonderful friendships! I hope with all my heart that we continue to have more laughter than crying, more mending of broken hearts than shattered hearts and most of all, continued love and friendships.
Ge'Lena
PS:
I feel blessed to share the month of January with Rio and Abby - the Tripawd Warrior Princess'. And yes, Micki - Comet will show Rio the ropes. I can't guarantee you that she won't corrupt her though - she was pretty bossy and oh so demanding in a lovable way!! But I know that she'll keep the Woo laughing! And Rio looked like she loved laughter! And I know Comet and Abby are swapping Monkeybutt stories daily! "You'll never believe what he did to me...!"
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Ge'Lena... it doesnt seem possible a year has gone by... we lost a lot of heroes during that time, and many have followed since. I am so glad that I had the priveledge of meeting you and Comet, and Rocket... you guys were such a huge help to me while Cooper fought his battle. And like Shari said, you were always there to jump right in and help a newcomer. Thank you so much for sharing Comet and Rocket and yourself with us, this journey would never have been the same without the 3 of you!

the monkeydogs only THINK they have invaded the tripawd state
Ge'Lena, your humor, thanks to something that Monkeybutt was doing at the time, lifted my day so many times. It feels as though we've met Comet through your posts. She was quite the prissy little girl who was purdy in pink! i'm glad you had many years with her, although it's just never long enough.

Sorry I'm late again, but in case you don't remember, you were the first one to welcome Gus and myself when we came on board, and it's been nothing short of great knowing you. I can remember the shock when I read your post, and was glad to be there for you as you have been for so many of us. Here's to good memories, Big Paws up for you and Comet, Spirit Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
Hey Ge'Lena
January 23 will never pass without notice around here without us thinking of Comet. You have done so much for everyone, and been there to support and provide comic relief for people both when Comet was visible and for newcomers arriving since that time. The time and love you devote to all things tripawd is incredible - woops - and all things MB (sorry Rocket!)!
Thank you guys!
I'm just following in the footsteps of others that are still here that have lost their pups long ago..........John and Diane, Pam and Karen!

We joined tripawds about 10 days before you lost Comet; she was the first one I remember going to the bridge. Your video was fantastic-- my kids kept ooh-ing and awing at the pics of Comet-- we did as you asked-- all smiles, no tears. We really liked the hose war; guess you needed a new hose after that one... Thanks for all your support!
Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011
Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011. Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs. If love alone could have saved you…
Oh, yeah - the hose war. I wanted to ask about that. Could you never water your lawn without that sort of scene breaking out? Were you constantly replacing hoses? Or did it just sort of turn the hose into a sprinkler system?
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Ge'Lena -
I thought alot about you and Comet yesterday – a day filled with so many wonderful memories and also unbearable loss. You and Comet were such a huge support to me with what I was going thru with Riley and made me laugh through all my tears. Something to the effect of comparing me to the bawling girl on American Idol.
Comet is greatly missed by all of us here and I know she is having a great time stealing cookies from our tripawd warriors at the rainbow bridge.
Sending hugs -
KaCee
Thanks for all you do, Ge'Lena. You make the unbearable bearable.

TATE ~ Forever in our hearts.

Oh MY Dog so many niceties toward Comet! For everyone that can't see me.............I'm rolling my eyes!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah - I miss her. (some) But for every ONE smiling picture you have seen, I can come up with TWO growly pictures of her! If I wasn't so quick on my paws, she would have bitten me like a gazillion times!!!
Okay fine. I really do miss her. But seriously she was mean and spoiled.
And what's was up with all those pink polka dot bows?????! No wonder JoAnn's Fabrics went out of business down the street since she died! Mommy must have kept them in business with all the ribbon buying!!!!!!!!
And for those keeping track - Mommy bought my collar at Food 4 Less! (yeah, a discounted grocery store - the place you have to sack your own groceries!!!)

Anyone feel free to write a nice post about me!
Bwahahhahahahahhahahahhahaha!
Wow, I am really late on this one. I took a short break from the forums for a few days and I missed out on this one. I'm sorry. I just have to say what's already been said. Ge'Lena you have been such a rock here for all of us. The first time I came to the forums, I came only because I thought this was where you go for info, but then I saw posts by MBBVP, and I realized that the forums was for more than that. You have been able to make us smile when the world goes dark and I want to thank you for that. You help make this community so special, and I loved the video of Comet. She sure had a great smile.
