Today was his 5th dose of carbo.  His bloodwork was within normal ranges.  He got a good feel-over and the onco didn't find anything concerning.  Temp normal and a strong heart rate.  He peed in a cup again, so we'll find out how his bladder is handling the last ~35days of metronomics .  He gained 0.4kg more, even though we were trying (slightly) to lose the 0.2kg he gained last time.  I guess we'll be a bit more aggressive.  We're done with carbo!  Wahoo!  We'll go back in a month for a followup and more urine testing.  They offered to do chest xrays at his followup, but I'm not on board.  We're already on metronomics , so even if there were lung mets, our course of treatment wouldn't change with chest xrays (at his size, Palladia is out of the question!).  So....freedom!  Yey, J-pod!  WHOOP WHOOP!

~ Katy

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

Yahoo! What a way to start the weekend.  J...you're an inspiration. :) Oh...and so is your mom!

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Yay Jackson!  No more icky stuff pumped into you!  Puppy kisses from us.

Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury.  Her amp was on 10/1/12.  She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera.  We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

Thanks for celebrating with us!  It feels amazing to have this stage behind us.  I'm so thankful for the progressive approach our oncos take and even more thankful that Jackson has tolerated every dose so well!  Let's hope the 5th is as uneventful as all the last.  Green beans, carrots, and red peppers for his toppers tonight.  Num yummies!

Excuse me....gotta go play fetch!

Jackson, you continue to amaze me.  I am so happy that your chemo is done with.  Now you get to take a break from going to the vets for a while.  That means more time at home to get loved on.  I hope you like your dinner, it sounds delish.  Enjoy your weekend.
