Hi Everyone,
Penny, like many others received her diagnosis for osteosarcoma as a shock to our little family.
We rushed into action and learned as much as we could in a short time and ended up driving 10 hours from MA to VA to have her front leg amputated at Helping Hands who specializes in this type of surgery.
We had the best experience as could be there and it was an emotional and difficult drive home and first couple days but we couldn't be happier with the outcome.
Penny has adapted so well in her first 3 months and her latest x-rays were clear, although we know that is wishful thinking, we are thankful for the extra time we are getting with her.
Cheers,
Dylan & Erin
Dylan and Erin, welcome! We are sorry you had to join our club but glad you found us. And glad you found Helping Hands too! Aren't they wonderful? I wish there were more of them around the country!
Sounds like you are all doing great! And yay for clear x-rays! You never know how this journey will play out, many dogs will beat the odds and hopefully Penny will be one of them too. Paws crossed
I'm going to go check out your blog, so excited you started one!
Thanks again. Let us know how we can help, we are here for you and amazing Penny
